Details of Event

Responded to a859 call placed with emergency services a3:43:14 p.m. EST on Sunday July 1, 2012Female victim, age 35 years deceased upon our arrival. Young female victim, age 6 years suffering from significant burn wounds to both hands. Witness testimony and surveillance of the scene indicate deceased female, mother of young female victim was helping to control a kite. It is unclear if kite was simply left on too long of a string or if wind picked up, but it is confirmed that the kite came into direct contact with powerlines at end of the large green field space.  

Emergency medical services arrived on scene at 3:44:01 p.m. EST on Sunday July 1, 2012Paramedics have confirmed female victim deceased from heart failure due to electrocution. Younger female vicitim has been treated for severe electrical burns from transference. Most likely suffered when coming into contact with her mother based upon witness testimonies. Paramedics will transport female victim, age 6 to General Hospital. Police have dispatched officers to collect father of victim at his place of residence and escort to hospital.
