Partner and I responded to an 859 call at 2:35:00 p.m. EST on Saturday April 26, 2014. Upon arrival, we immediately proceeded to the west side of the home where a man age 35 lay on the ground with severe injuries to his left hand and foot. His son, age 10 years was by his side on the phone with an emergency response operator.
Emergency medical services respondents arrived on scene at 2:38:00 p.m. EST on Saturday April 26, 2014. We interviewed the son and secured the scene, speaking with neighbours to collect further details of the incident. We notified the wife via phone about the incident at her home and provided her with the hospital details. EMS took father and son in the ambulance to South West General emergency, police car 246 on scene to speak with the father and medical examiner.
Partner and I remained at the scene to observe and document the incident. Based on location of the aluminum ladder and state of the spilled water, water bucket, and window cleaning tools it appears the individual was injured while walking around corner to west side of home. Observation that the powerline connection to their home is located on west corner of roof. State of aluminum ladder indicates contact with electrical current. The doctor indicated injuries to hands and feet are consistent with contact with electricity.
