Witness statement name:
Geraldine, female, age 58 – neighbour and friend of victim

Witness statement:
I saw Vera working in her garden this morning while having my cup of coffee and thought I’d go over and have a nice chat and look at her roses. She is always quick to attend to her garden after harsh stroms. I was half way across the street when I noticed that she suddenly fell to her side and lay unmoving. I rushed to her side, when I got there she was dazed so I helped her to her feet and guided her to her chair on the porch. I then went inside and called 9-1-1 as Vera didn’t seem to know where she was and that made me very worried. I wasn’t sure what happened, but the paramedics think that she suffered an electrical shock based on a burn in her hand and her symptoms. They assure me she should be fine but I’ll visit her in the hospital tomorrow just to make sure.
